Monday I had lunch with my friend from flight attendant training, Megan. She was in Philadelphia on a layover so we went to the Reading Terminal Market and got sweets then walked down to Old City and back to her hotel. The money pit


Yesterday between doctors appointments two and three the receptionist asked me how our “money pit” was doing. We had a good chuckle and I filled her in on the plans for the house for this year. We are putting in a new furnace this weekend, doing lots more hacking at the jungle of our yard, and starting to find contractors to do the upstairs renovation next year.

“It’s Like I Know What I’m Doing”

Sometimes in a big project house like ours the little victories are really sweet. Like this weekend.

Take for example a busted light switch.


This ancient piece of engineering that I’m surprised hasn’t caught fire. This baby wasn’t working at the bottom of our stairs, so with no prior experience and half an hour Adam had switched it out for a shiny new one.
